The Pokemon GO Galarian Expeiditon event is now live with collection challenges, rewards, and more! According to Niantic, the event will be available from 7 Oct to 11 Oct 2024.

The new event is bringing a lot of featured Pokemons, including the shiny ones as well! So if you have been waiting for an opportunity to catch the Shiny Pokemon, now’s the chance. But if you don’t want to grind, you can also buy shiny Pokemon of your choice!

More Wild Pokemon Spawns

The Galarian Expedition event will increase the frequency of the Wild Pokemon Spawns… And if you are lucky, you may even catch the shiny version of these Pokemon!

Zamazenta is back

One of the highlights of the new event in Pokemon GO is the Zamazenta’s return.

Zamazenta will appear as a 5-star raid boss throughout the entire Galarian Expedition Pokemon GO. As the Zamazenta is a fighting type Pokemon, you can defeat it by using fairy, flying, and psychic attacks.

The Zamazenta will also appear in its shiny form during the events. This marks one of the first-ever such opportunity to catch the Shiny Zamazenta in Pokemon GO!

So, if you have always wanted to catch the legendary Pokemon “Zamazenta”, participate in the Galarian Expedition event.

New Shiny Pokemon

The Galarian Expedition Pokemon GO is a great opportunity for the fans to catch a lot of Shiny Pokemon. The shiny variants of the following will be available in the new event:

Galarian Articuno
Moltres
Zapdos

All of these are rare Pokemon that can be found via the Daily Adventure Incense. However, the appearance rate of their shiny variants will be very low.

Field Research Tasks

Pokemon GO has also brought new Field Research Tasks for the trainers. You can spin the Pokestops to obtain these tasks.

According to the devs, the rewards for these field research tasks include Stardust, XP, and encounters with Pokemon. Also, the new event will allow the trainers to get a ticket for the Masterwork Research event.

Buying the ticket will allow the players to go through a new Masterwork Research questline. Once these quests are completed, these rewards will be given:

10000 Stardust
18000 XP

Galarian Expedition Collection Challenge

The highlight of the event is the Galarian Expedition Collection Challenge #1 and #2. Through these challenges, the trainers can catch 8 Pokemon, including the evolutions.

The first collection challenge involves catching 3x Pokemon and then evolving them completely. Here’s a list of Pokemon that you must catch/evolve to complete the challenge#1:

Spheal
Alakazam
Sealeo
Foongus
Walrein
Amoonguss

Some of these Pokemon must be caught, while others must be evolved to complete the first challenge. The rewards for challenge#1 include 20x Ultra Balls, 5000 XP, and an encounter with Alolan Marowak.
